Who will issue our degrees and diplomas and what is the status of these degrees/diplomas?
Ans. The issuing authority is Institute of Alternative Medicines Kolkata affiliated to “Indian Council of Alternative Medicines” which is legally constituted and internationally recognized both in India and abroad. It is duly incorporated under Act XXVI of 1961 of government of West Bengal, based on the Central Government Act XXI of 1860, Literary & Scientific Institutions Act, 1854.
How do you accept fee remuneration from abroad?
Ans. We are able to accept a wide variety of mode of payments like online payment, wire transfer, banker’s cheque and International Money Order. You can select whichever mode is convenient to you.
My profile does not match the eligibility criteria, please advice.
Ans. We at Institute of Alternative Medicines Kolkata understand that there are a wide variety of educational systems in the world, and if your profile does not make you eligible for the courses, do write to us and we will be able to guide you regarding the courses that match with your profile.
This program is also offered through distance learning, but how will I be able to gain hands on practical expertise?
Ans. Each month, we conduct Clinical/practical training for duration of a week. This is intensive and it is unique. It is specially designed for the benefit of students who are unable to take regular classes. Moreover, the Institute of Alternative Medicines Kolkata also conducts workshops and seminars on various alternative therapies, natural medicine and holistic healing in general. You can avail of these systems.
I would like to opt for distance learning. What assistance will Institute of Alternative Medicines Kolkata provide?
You will be mailed the set of prescribed books, which will have chapters to study. You will also be provided question papers to answer and send back. These will then be evaluated and you will be sent your mark sheet and if you qualify you will be awarded your certificate.
Can I enroll into more than one course?
If your profile meets our eligibility criteria, you can enroll into more that a single course simultaneously.
I don’t live in India. Am I still permitted to enroll into the distance learning program?
Yes, of course! This is the aim of distance learning. You can live any where, in whichever country. We will mail you your study material any where in the world, and help and information that you require can be provided to you by e-mail or by telephone. Whether you are in India or abroad, you can be assured of the same high quality distance learning course program that Institute of Alternative Medicines Kolkata is reputed to provide.
Is there a time limit for completion of the course?
Distance Learning can be conducted at your own pace. This is the major advantage of pursuing a distance learning course. That being said, the time frame should be within reasonable limits. You can decide the pace that is convenient to you, and inform your coordinator. If some unforeseen event has occurred you can inform your coordinator and apply for an extension, so that your hard work is not fruitless.
How are exams conducted in the distance learning course?
As mentioned earlier, your study material will be posted to you, and your question papers will also be posted to you. You can attempt your question paper at your home and post us your answer scripts. These will be evaluated at (Institute name). Your mark sheet, and if you clear your examination, your certificate will be posted back to you.
What happens in the event that I am unable to clear an exam?
If you are unable to clear your exam in the first attempt, you will be given another chance to clear it. You will be re-examined at no additional exam fee.
I wish to pursue research. How can “Institute of Alternative Medicines Kolkata” assist me?
For research you have to enroll into our Ph.D.(A.M.) program. You will get the option to either appoint a guide to assist you on your own, or you can approach us for help. We have a panel of guides who have prepared a set of guidelines that will be of help to you in your chosen field. This guideline will be e-mailed to you for the successful completion of your thesis.

What is the admission procedure of “Institute of Alternative Medicines Kolkata”?
Please download our online form and fill it. You can send it to us along with the fee by Banker’s Cheque, Wire Transfer or International M.O. along with copies of your testimonials and two passport photos. Then you will be given your enrollment number on receipt of the remittances by us. After that you will start receiving the study materials of your applied course by postal mail.
What if I am forced to abandon my training mid-way?
As per the rules of “Institute of Alternative Medicines Kolkata” you are allowed to interrupt your training by notifying your course in-charge. You will be allowed to resume your studies later.
What is the status of “Institute of Alternative Medicines Kolkata” and its courses?
“Institute of Alternative Medicines Kolkata” is affiliated to “Indian Council of Alternative Medicines” which is legally constituted and recognized both in India and internationally. It is duly incorporated under Act XXVI of 1961 of Government of West Bengal, based on the Central Government Act XXI of 1860, Literary & Scientific Institutions Act, 1854. Its curriculum is as per the guidelines of Alternative Medicine in India. Moreover the rights of the practitioners of Alternative Medicine are duly protected under Article 19 of the Constitution of India.
